Go greased lightning!
Our camp offers children a theatrical experience they will never forget. In addition, STARS raises self-confidence and self- esteem of each child that participates. All parts are multi-cast to ensure that every child's' abilities are utilized. This summer's session will include training in voice, dance, characterization, improvisation and set design.
So now you got to cut loose! Footloose!
For "Grease", auditions are June 16th, 2012;
For "Footloose", auditions are July 22, 2012;
For our teen show, "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee Teen Show", auditions will be on June 2, 2012. Please e-mail one of our assistant directors, Alex Epstein or Jennifer Solomon at dramastars@gmail.com, to schedule an appointment time. Each audition lasts approximately 10 minutes and will consist of each child singing a one to two minute song of their choice. We get booked up fast so make sure to sign up as early as possible!
- "Grease" begins on June 18th and continues until July 11th.
- "Footloose" begins on July 23rd and continues until August 15th.
- "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee Teen Show" will have practices on June 3, 10, 17, 24 & July 1, 8 (Sundays from 10-4) and June 21, 26 & July 3, 10 (Tuesdays from 4-9).
- Each camp day is from 10:00am-3:00pm with a 30 minute lunch break in between. We also offer extended day care beginning at 9:30am and ending at 4:00pm for an additional $15 a day.
- All camp days will take place at the theater. Please e-mail us to arrange carpools or for directions.
- "Grease" shows are on July 12th at 7pm, July 13th at 7pm, and July 14th at 7 pm.
- "Footloose" shows are on August 16th at 7pm, August 17th at 7pm, and August 18th at 7pm.
- "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee Teen Show" shows are on July 20th at 7pm, and July 21st at 7pm.
- In order for your child to participate in a STARS production, they may not miss more than 4 days, unless previously discussed with the STARS staff.
- In addition, no dress rehearsal or show date may be missed.
- Also keep in mind that since not every child will be in every cast, they will not have to attend the other shows, but it is suggested, as it's great to support fellow cast mates and friends!
At the 25th annual...Putnam County Spelling Bee!
If you are interested in signing your child(s) up for this production, please contact Alex Epstein or Jennifer Solomon, assistant directors, before the audition date. The regular cost for each session is $600. However, if you sign your child up before May 1st and pay in full, the cost will be reduced to $500. Likewise, if you sign your child up before May 1st and split the cost into two payments, the cost will be reduced to $550, with one payment received before May 1st, and the other on the audition date. Finally, if you place a deposit of $50 before May 1st, your child's tuition will be reduced to $575 which will be due on the audition date.
Last but not least, since not every child is a theater kid, we offer a refund if after 3 full days of camp you realize that STARS is not the appropriate camp for your child. You will receive $400 back, as we will then have to rearrange parts, casts, and costume orders to offer the best production to our campers. We do understand that your child may or may not be a "drama king or queen" so we'd like to create as little "drama" as possible. Please be aware of this before you sign your child(s) up.
