| About the Director |
   Hi, my name is Shayna Turk and I am the director of STARS. For the past 6 years I have been directing a musical theater summer camp at my house. I began doing an art camp in 2003 where I had 8 kids attend. They would come to my house twice a week for two hours and I would lead them in creating art projects. Then in the summer of 2004 I decided I wanted to do something different. Since I had preformed in 18 plays myself I thought I should direct one. I asked my sister to tell me all of her friends who she thinks would like to be a part of it. I then called all of them and 12 of them decided to participate in my 1st production of "You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown." After I finished directing that play I decided to do another one. The second part of the summer of 2004 I directed "The Wizard of Oz" where I had 15 kids participate. Then in the summer of 2005 I directed "Annie" and had 18 kids perform in it. The next play that summer I directed was “Grease” and I had over 30 kids perform in it. In the summer of 2006, I directed "Little Shop of Horrors" and "Fiddler on the Roof" and had 30 kids in each. In 2007, I directed "High School Musical" with 30 kids. I really enjoy directing and one day hope to really be a director. |
